Zafira Tourer to drive down fleet costs with Vauxhall's cleanest-ever diesel
The 1.6 Start/Stop unit will make its debut at next month’s Geneva motor show and features BlueInjection selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology to meet Euro 6 emissions regulations.
The unit will be available from the summer and delivers 134bhp and 236lb.ft of torque, giving a 0-62mph time of 10.4 seconds. Fuel economy is 68.9mpg on the combined cycle with emissions of 109g/km CO2, promising low costs for fleet operators.
Developed entirely within GM by a global team of powertrain engineers, the unit also offers low levels of noise, vibration and harshness.
The unit joins four other diesels, including the recently-announced high-performance 2.0 BiTurbo CDTi engine with 192bhp, and two petrol engines.
‘Vauxhall continues to develop its award-winning model range with new and exciting technology,’ said Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall’s chairman and managing director. ‘This new powertrain is Vauxhall’s cleanest diesel engine in its illustrious 110-year history.’
