Yorkshire vehicle rental group invests £1.1m in North West as part of plans to double fleet

Located on the S:Park development close to the M60, the new facility features a full customer reception, an indoor valet area, extensive customer parking and houses a fleet of 150 vehicles.

The Manchester Stockport location is the seventh in AMT’s nationwide network and supports its ambitious expansion plans.

The investment will enable Leeds-headquartered AMT to strategically develop rental markets in the North West, giving access to Manchester and Liverpool airports while also supporting its growing operation in Yorkshire.

“Having this year celebrated our 20th anniversary, we are well-established within the niche prestige and specialist vehicle rental sector and, with more than 1,500 vehicles, we have the largest independent fleet in the UK and plan to double the fleet size over the next 18 months,” said Neil McGawley, managing director of AMT Group.

“2015 marked another key stage in our development as we re-located our head office to larger, completely renovated premises in Leeds. This latest investment in the North West will further strengthen our position, enabling us to better cover the region and, crucially, to provide rental services for developing markets at both Manchester and Liverpool Airports.”

Andy Crinson, general manager of AMT Vehicle Rental, added: “Our success in this highly competitive market is based upon our ability to provide outstanding service focusing on the individual needs of the customer as well as offering wider vehicle choice and competitive pricing. The North West offers great potential for growth and we are confident that our bespoke service and the innovative thinking we bring to the supply of specialist vehicles will enable us to build strong, long term relationships with customers here too.”
