East Riding of Yorkshire Council (EROYC) is reaping benefits including increased fleet compliance, security and safety with the help of latest telematics technology.

East Riding of Yorkshire Counci has deployed Teletrac Navman’s telematics platform for its 650-strong mixed fleet

The council uses its 650-strong mixed fleet to provide a full range of local government services and has deployed Teletrac Navman’s telematics platform.

The solution provides the council’s fleet managers with access to real-time data via a single interface, such as vehicle location, driver performance, idling time and fuel usage. The insights have been designed for easy access but Teletrac Navman also used its Professional Services team to oversee the implementation process, supporting with training and troubleshooting, ensuring EROYC’s fleet management team could extract the most value from the data and tools.

The contract also includes the use of Teletrac Navman’s Driver ID solution. The councils’ vehicles are not permanently assigned to a single employee and to prevent misuse and increase security, Driver ID allows the council’s 1,100 drivers to present either a PIN number or key fob to operate a vehicle.

Ivan McMaster, service manager at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said the team at Teletrac Navman had not only provided dedicated consultation at the point of procurement, before getting under “the skin of our outfit to deliver the solutions necessary to operate as best we can”.

What’s more, they’ve gone above and beyond to create bespoke e-learning courses, training videos and live sessions, which have put us in good stead to move forward and serve our community as best we can.”
