Webfleet Solutions and Lytx develop video-based telematics solution

A new integrated video and telematics solution is now on offer, bringing a best-of-both-worlds approach to fleet management.

The Webfleet Video solution combines Webfleet Solutions’ vehicle and driving data with Lytx’s advanced machine vision (MV) and artificial intelligence (AI) powered camera technology

The new Webfleet Video solution is the result of a tie-up between telematics specialist Webfleet Solutions and Lytx, a leading global provider of video telematics solution.

The resultant technology combines Webfleet Solutions’ vehicle and driving data with Lytx’s advanced machine vision (MV) and artificial intelligence (AI) powered camera technology to give users full insights on how their fleet is operating on the road.

This not only helps ensure efficient fleet management but also helps safeguard drivers and other road users.

Fleets get in-depth insights into critical events, helping them to prevent accidents, increase safety for the driver, enhance fleet efficiency and reduce the frequency and cost of insurance claims.

They can also access actionable driving behaviour insights and real-time feedback for events such as idling or harsh braking.

The addition of Lytx’ video technology also means fleet managers can protect their drivers from non-fault claims – including fraudulent claims – while benefiting from a single interface solution.

“We are excited to combine our expertise to equip many more customers worldwide with best-in-class solutions,” said Damian Penney, vice president, Europe at Lytx.

“Many fleet managers today leverage more than one technology, which can be a lot to juggle. Finding opportunities to consolidate is crucial. Through this integration, customers will be able to seamlessly access industry-leading video-based driver behaviour and fleet management insights.”

The Webfleet Video solution will be accessible via the Webfleet platform from April 2021.
