VW introduces Golf Estate Match Edition trim

Styling features include 16-inch alloy wheels and front fog lights as well as a Mirror Pack which brings remote electrically folding door mirrors, plus door mirror puddle lights and reverse activated kerb-view adjustment on the passenger’s door mirror.

Other additional features include parking sensors plus an upgrade of the infotainment system to the Discover Navigation system, with Car-Net Guide and Inform. The list of extra equipment is finished with heated front seats, headlight washers and heated windscreen washer jets.

VW said that the new features would normally cost £1975 but have been added to the Golf Estate for a £100 supplement, bringing the starting price to £22,045 OTR.

Other VW range changes include the addition of an allergy filter to the 2Zone electronic air conditioning system, and this is now standard across the Performance Golf and Performance Golf Estate ranges (GTI, GTD, GTE, R and Alltrack models).

The Golf R and the Golf Estate R have also been upgraded with the Discover Navigation infotainment system, with Car Net Guide and Inform, factory fitted as standard. In addition, both R models now come equipped with heated front seats, headlight washers and heated windscreen washer jets. The extra equipment, which would normally total £1145, has been added for a £500 addition to the OTR price.

The Passat also gains extra tech. The new Active Info Display system – a 12-inch high definition TFT dash display screen with customisable menus and information – can now be selected no matter which level of infotainment system the Passat has. Volkswagen has also developed an enhanced version of the Nivomat self-levelling suspension as an option on most Passat Estate trims.

Both the saloon and estate versions of the Passat GT and R-Line now feature Active Info Display and a Panoramic Sunroof as standard equipment.

Finally, the latest Touran also now offers extra power for the 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine, up from 108bhp to 113bhp.
