As lockdown conditions ease, the remarketing sector is starting to get more insight into emerging issues

Titled ‘Getting Back to Business’, the fifth webinar is being held at 10am on Thursday 20 May and will include speakers such as Steve Young, managing director at ICDP, and Chris Hine and Robert Marchant, both partners at the accountancy firm Crowe UK LLP.

Steve Young will look at trends such as the impact of the growth of personal leasing, greater scale and professionalism in used car operations, and the move from franchise to agency models for motor manufacturers.

Chris Hine and Robert Marchant will present on the VAT and commercial disputes issues associated with early termination and breaches of contracts. The current treatment of these is unclear and creating problems because, with changing working and leisure habits, some organisations are looking to terminate leases and other contracts.

Philip Nothard, chair at the VRA, said: “As businesses start to return to something resembling normality, we’re starting to get a more defined idea of the most important new issues that are emerging in the remarketing space.

“This webinar is designed to help our members gain an understanding of some of the most immediate, providing them with the information they need to take account of these developments in their future business plans.”
