Volvo XC60 takes 2018 World Car of the Year title
The Volvo XC60 has fought off 33 competitors to take the 2018 World Car of the Year crown at the New York International Auto Show.
The XC60 made it through to the final stage alongside the Mazda CX-5 and Range Rover Velar, and was selected as the winner by an international jury panel of 82 automotive journalists.
“I am pleased to see our company’s product investments paying off,” said Håkan Samuelsson, president and CEO of Volvo Cars. “We are up against some tough competition, but this award for the XC60 shows that Volvo has the right combination of design, connectivity and safety that appeals to customers across the world.”
Previous World Car of the Year winners include the Jaguar F-Pace (2017) and Mazda MX-5 (2016).
