Volkswagen Touareg offers three new trims and 48-hour test drives

Volkswagen continues to expand its Touareg line-up, adding three new trims and bringing a reduced entry price for the range.

The new Volkswagen Touareg entry-level SE trim

Arriving as the Touareg is added to the 48-hour test drive programme, the SE, SEL Tech and Black Edition join the existing grades, marking new entry-level, mid-range and high-end specifications.

As the new entry point to the range, the SE sits under the existing SEL trim and brings a lower price of £45,445 OTR. Offered with the 231hp and 286hp 3.0-litre V6 TDI engines, it bears most of the SEL kit and includes 19-inch alloys, a Discover Pro 9.2-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Gesture Control and integrated voice control, front and rear parking sensors and adaptive cruise control.

Sitting above the existing SEL trim and priced from £50,995, the new mid-range SEL Tech spec adds Volkswagen’s Innovision Cockpit system, with 15-inch integrated control panel and 12.3-inch digital cockpit, an electric tailgate with electric opening and power latching. It also features 19-inch alloy wheels, heat-insulating, 80% tinted glass from the B-pillar backwards. It’s available with both diesel engines, as well as the 340hp 3.0-litre V6 TFSI unit also offered in the R-Line, R-Line Tech and Black Edition.

Finally, at the top of the range above the R-Line and R-Line Tech, the Black Edition is priced at £58,745 OTR in 231hp 3.0-litre V6 TDI guise. Additions include a black finish to the 21-inch alloy wheels, as well as further black trim detailing. It also features a panoramic sunroof, light matrix beam, air suspension with automatic self-levelling function, an Easy Open function for the tailgate, and Park Assist package with Area View.
