Volkswagen Golf gets new higher-spec Match trim
Volkswagen has introduced a new Match trim level for the current Golf range ahead of next summer’s launch of the eighth-generation model.
The replacement to the former SE and SE Nav trims, the Match specification is available with a range of engines and brings extra equipment, including a new alloy wheel design, front fog lights, Discover Navigation and tinted rear windows as standard.
VW says that extra equipment means that like-for-like, the Golf Match offers a saving of more than £300 compared with the SE Navigation specification.
Prices start £20,510 OTR for the 114bhp 1.0-litre TSI hatch, compared to £20,490 for the same engine on the outgoing SE model.
The Golf Estate Match is priced at £22,385 RRP OTR, and the Golf SV Match at £22,745, bringing savings over similarly-engined models of more than £400 compared to the Golf Estate SE, and Golf Estate SE Navigation, and more than £300 compared to the Golf SV SE and SE Navigation.
The new Golf Match models are available to order now with first deliveries due in January.
