Upgraded Nissan Juke diesel to offer 109g/km

By / 11 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Offering the same 108bhp as before, the updated unit now comes with an extra 15lb.ft of torque, offering a maximum 192lb.ft at 1,750rpm, with 80% of this figure available from just 1,500rpm to improve driveability.

Meanwhile the new engine also features Nissan's automatic Start/Stop system and offers CO2 emissions reduced from 124g/km to 109g/km with combined fuel economy of 67.3mpg – a 14% improvement from the previous 58.9mpg.

The technical changes behind these improvements include a closed-loop low-pressure exhaust gas recycling (EGR) system that helps ensure the unit is compatible with forthcoming Euro6 emission regulations.

As well as offering improved torque, the new Juke features changes to the gear ratios, giving sharper responses at low speeds, while the top four gears are slightly longer, taking advantage of the improved torque to deliver better fuel efficiency.

Fuel efficiency is also helped by the use of the Nissan Dynamic Control system, which enables the driver to select from three engine settings – Eco, Normal and Sport.

Prices for the new 1.5 dCi Juke start from £14,895 for the Visia model.
