Tusker to overhaul business processes as part of growth plans

Tusker is investing more than £2m to completely transform its IT systems and business infrastructure in preparation for further growth this year.

Tusker is investing £2m in overhauling its business and technology programmes.

‘Project Marvel’ – named in reference to the company’s superhero-themed training Academy – involves rewriting all the company’s IT infrastructure and systems in order to change and improve business processes.

The investment comes as Tusker reports continued expansion in the wake of the Autumn Statement announcement of new tax rules relating to salary sacrifice for cars, which it says will impact the industry less than expected.

Clive Baker, chief technical officer, commented: “This is not just an IT system refurbishment, this is a major overhaul of our business processes to make things better, easier and simpler for our customers, as well as for everyone working at Tusker. Last year’s monthly orders were fantastic and January is looking even better. With our rate of growth, we knew we needed to invest in order to maintain our extremely high customer service standards.”

Part of the project involves updating and improving the Driver Portal, making it more ‘mobile friendly’. Similarly, the Customer Portal will be upgraded, enabling corporate customers to set up their account and manage their fleet.

The new telephone system identifies drivers from their phone number and automatically puts them straight through to the correct team, dependant on whether they are at the quoting or ordering stage, or an existing driver, with all the driver’s details to hand.

Baker added: “Our customer satisfaction rates are fantastic, reflected in our five star Trustpilot rating. But we want it to be even better. This is the single largest investment in systems that Tusker has ever made. Our intention is to continue investing and growing, whilst improving on the exceptionally high customer service levels that we are known for.”
