Tusker reinforces green credentials with ISO 14001

The certification verifies that Tusker has created and enforced a successful system that delivers on its objectives and supports other existing sustainability projects as well as those planned for the future.

The company said it is particularly proud of the achievement, as it provides further independent verification of the company’s hard work in reducing its own environmental impact as well as that of corporate clients’ fleets.

In 2014, Tusker offset 30,000 tons of tailpipe carbon emissions and has set a target of offsetting 60,000 tons for 2015. Tusker has significantly reduced its carbon footprint as an organisation by relocating to a green office park in Watford and also record and offset their annual carbon footprint in accordance with PAS2060 to achieve a carbon neutral status.

The independent external auditor was presented with several environmental initiatives introduced by Tusker, including ensuring that all new cars delivered are carbon neutral through a number of accredited offsetting schemes.

Tusker is also an established champion of electric vehicles and has spearheaded an awareness campaign through the development of a dedicated microsite which promotes the cost and environmental benefits of ultra-low emission vehicles. All the company directors drive electric vehicles and key customers are offered long term loans of electric vehicles free of charge.

Chief commercial officer, Iain Carmichael said: ‘We are recognised by our customers as a green champion and as experts on electric vehicles, so we are naturally proud and delighted to have achieved this latest ISO certification which recognises and verifies the developments we have made in this key area of our business.’
