Trg Vehicle Hire branches out into servicing

By / 11 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The south London-based business runs more than 230 vehicles from its Tolworth, Epsom and Croydon branches and will initially launch its “ServiceSmart” initiative at the Epsom head office.

Commenting on the initiative, Nigel Schroder, managing director of trg Vehicle Hire, said: ‘The business is growing at such a rapid pace, and we felt the time had come to provide our own in-house vehicle servicing. Not only is it more cost-efficient, but it is also reassuring that we have 100% control when it comes to knowing how our vehicles are being maintained.

‘The vehicle servicing sector is a profitable one to be in, and it will – eventually – create a healthy revenue stream. Our aim is to replicate the offering on the vehicle hire side; we want to provide the highest levels of service and the best technicians – our customers need to be totally confident in the service they are receiving. We want to offer a one-stop shop when it comes to aspects relating to motoring.’

The service centre will also be open to the general public within the Epsom area – providing cost effective servicing solutions for all types of vehicle. ServiceSmart will also offer a dedicated technician, who will get to know customers, their vehicle and speak to them directly.

The company has also appointed industry specialist, Rob Tamone, to launch and manage the initiative.

Schroder continued: ‘We are also delighted to welcome Rob to the team. He is a true industry expert and has worked in the area of fleet maintenance for more than 14 years. ServiceSmart is in safe hands.’

Rob Tamone added: ‘I am excited about the prospect of managing “the herd” (trg's own fleet of vehicles), and launching the service to our existing and prospective clients. I have a real understanding of the sector, having run my own vehicle servicing business. I am now looking forward to taking on this new challenge.’
