Trakm8 acquires Roadsense

Telematics and fleet management specialist Trakm8 has acquired Roadsense Technology Ltd for an undisclosed amount.

Roadsense offers fleet telematics and safety products and provides solutions nationwide to fleets consisting of between one and 1,500 vehicles.

Trakm8 added that the extensive experience of the Roadsense team in the SME sector was a key factor in the acquisition.

John Watkins, executive chairman of Trakm8, said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Roadsense – it represents a terrific opportunity to showcase our integrated offerings, with the potential to further our next generation telematics and camera solutions. The addition of Roadsense will also assist the Group to consolidate and grow its share of the SME market.”

Andrew Tillman, CEO of Roadsense, added: “The acquisition will allow Roadsense to provide an even wider range of telematic and camera systems to our customers and more importantly, it will provide financial stability and the support of a large talented team to ensure that we can continue to provide quality products and outstanding customer service to all of our current and future customers.”

Roadsense is the third company in a string of recent acquisitions which also includes the trade and assets of DCS Systems, and route optimisation and scheduling experts, Route Monkey.

Roadsense’s largest customer is Iceland Foods, to whom Route Monkey currently supply route optimisation software.
