TRACKER partners with Redcaps Security Solutions for in-car camera

By / 10 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

By combining a real-time 24/7 camera to record and store video images, with vehicle usage and driver behaviour information, the new Road Guardian solution is intended to provide insurers and commercial drivers with a greater level of protection against fraudulent claims when an accident occurs.

Based in Northern Ireland, Redcaps provides an approved 24/7 call centre service for commercial fleet owners. It also provides connectivity through a Bcall service to the emergency services for these customers, in the event of an accident. Road Guardian also has a range of security upgrades, from theft to surveillance from a security control room.

In addition, fleet owners gain access to a full driver behaviour report, allowing businesses to benefit from Redcaps’ driver correctional training team.

Mark Thomson, insurance director for TRACKER, said: ‘Forward-facing camera units are becoming increasingly attractive for insurers and commercial drivers in a bid to reduce the likelihood of a fraudulent claim being submitted.  In addition to recording and storing captured video images in the event of a crash being detected, the system offers live view and remote download. Road Guardian can take up to four cameras with audio for added security in the cab and goods areas. It also acts as an eye witness to any accidents or bad drivers on our roads.

‘TRACKER continues to work closely with key partners to develop new products.  ur partnership with Redcaps means we are delivering a unique solution that protects insurers and helps commercial drivers make a claim. Commercial fleet owners are already benefiting from Road Guardian, which we hope to extend to young drivers in the future.’
