Under the partnership, Towergate will integrate TRACKER Fleet into its Fleetcare+ risk management programme. The move will enable its fleet customers to monitor daily mileage, journey status, speed limits and layers of information about the vehicle and driver behaviour, providing the ability to improve their fleet operations by reducing costs and effectively manage risk, with the ultimate aim to reduce their insurance premiums.

‘Telematics is the future of commercial motor insurance and our partnership with TRACKER ensures we continue to lead the way,’ said Larry Smith, divisional managing director of Towergate Insurance – Motor Division. ‘TRACKER Fleet allows our customers to proactively manage their risk and reduce costs. It also gives us the opportunity to stop the insurance loss before it occurs. By improving safety, our customers benefit from a more efficient fleet, as well as the potential for reduced insurance premiums.’

Stephen Doran, managing director for TRACKER, said: ‘Our flexible reporting capabilities mean that TRACKER Fleet has the ability to tailor the needs of every Towergate customer to deliver cost-savings and improve fleet efficiency and safety. In addition, our unique technology offers a depth of data and driver performance information, helping Towergate improve customer care and reduce insurance loss. This contract demonstrates the value we can bring to the commercial motor insurance industry, using TRACKER’s telematics capabilities to help them deliver added value to their customers.’
