Toyota unveils sub-90g/km hybrid compact crossover at Geneva

Marked out as the first full hybrid model within the segment, the C-HR follows in the footsteps of the concept cars seen at Paris in 2014 and Frankfurt in 2015.

Built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture Platform (TNGA), the C-HR will be equipped with two powertrains in the UK.

The full hybrid power plant uses Toyota’s latest 1.8-litre hybrid system and offers CO2 emissions of less than 90g/km.

Also offered will be the 114bhp 1.2 litre turbo engine first shown in the Auris with a choice of six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT system in front-wheel or four-wheel drive versions.

A 2.0-litre CVT-only model will also be available in other markets but not for the UK.
