TomTom to provide cost-effective, entry-level track and trace product

By / 10 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Few details have been released yet but the company said the device will plug directly into a vehicle’s OBD port, allowing customers to install it themselves. This means no installation charges, helping to make the device a cost-effective, entry-level track and trace product.

TomTom announced the new product as it reported further strong growth for its fleet management business in 2013 after recording a 38% increase in its install base.

A total of 330,000 vehicles are now managed by TomTom Business Solutions’ technology– up from 239,000 in January 2013.

‘This year-on-year growth reflects our ongoing success in bringing to market products that offer significant value to companies operating vehicle fleets,’ said Thomas Schmidt, managing director, TomTom Business Solutions.

‘Through continuous innovation, we have consistently delivered products that enable our customers to make ever smarter business decisions.’
