TMC and Shell tie up on integrated fuel and charging management for fleets

A new integrated fleet solution is now available from TMC and Shell, combining more than 3,800 forecourt sites with charging and technology solutions to manage both fuel and charging.

The tie-up will benefit fleets through comprehensive fuel and charging management solutions

The tie-up draws on Shell Fleet Solutions’ fuel and charging network, which includes 150kW and 50kW rapid chargers, but also offers electric vehicle charging at home and European site network access. Fleets can also benefit from fixed prices or a pence-per-litre discount at the pump, as well as 24/7 opening and free Wi-Fi and amenities at some Shell sites. Drivers can collect Shell Go+ points on each visit to redeem rewards too.

They can also use TMC’s Mileage Track app to find their nearest station using and can log their business journey whilst on the move via the app.

TMC’s in-depth mileage management audits every business trip to ensure it complies with the business’ policy; where any anomalies are spotted, TMC follows up directly with the driver or line manager. As well as checking every mileage claim, the firm also identifies trends and produce a range of reports to provide visibility of the fleet’s fuel spend and general performance.

Business and personal use are separated for car and LCV drivers to comply with HMRC VAT requirements and a payroll file is provided each month for private mileage deductions.

TMC will also support the partnership with its iQ product range – including Fuel iQ, which means fleets can move away from ‘free’ fuel through a fully expensed fuel card, ensuring no one is out of pocket, as well as its (E)Valuation solution, that reviews suitability of EVs based on business trips logged on TMC’s system.

Paul Hollick, MD of TMC, commented: “We are truly delighted to be partnering with Shell and offering our clients this first-class service. Drivers can now benefit from TMC’s industry leading app as well as Shell’s extensive network and innovation in the EV arena. At the same time, the business gains increased visibility, reduced costs and a fully optimised fuel programme. The partnership will drive real benefit and savings for clients, both in the short and long term.”

Sarah Llewelyn, UK sales manager, Shell Fleet Solutions, added: “In current times, providing our customers with efficiency saving solutions has never been more important. As part of this, partnering with companies such as TMC enable us to integrate valuable services for fleets. The fuel management solution offers increased visibility, productivity and security for businesses, and adds to our already comprehensive product offering, including telematics, European tolling, EV-enabled cards and carbon offsetting, to deliver only the best possible service for fleet businesses.”
