Tiguan gets new trims and range-topping petrol

Volkswagen has updated the Tiguan and Tiguan Allspace with new trim levels and a 230hp petrol engine.

The Tiguan Match replaces SE and SE Nav Trims

The changes see the introduction of a new Match trim to replace the previous SE and SE Nav trims. Priced from £26,750 OTR with Volkswagen’s 130hp 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine, this adds in a rear view camera, park assist, keyless entry and 19-inch alloy wheels. As a result, this adds up to £1,330 of added value over the previous SE Nav spec, although the price has gone up by £200 compared to former trim.

The former R-Line trim is also being replaced by a new R-Line Tech trim. This specification now includes a £1,485 package of options covering area view, Park Assist, Keyless entry and full electric tailgate operation, while prices have again gone up by £200. It’s also offered with a new 230hp 2.0-litre TSI – also available in SEL and provided as standard with 4Motion all-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG. The range-topping petrol brings a full WLTP combined cycle figure of 36.7mpg with NEDC Correlated CO2 of 175g/km. Prices for the new engine start at £38,335 OTR.

Deliveries are expected to start later this month, for both Tiguan and Tiguan Allspace variants, in both Match and R-Line Tech trims.
