Thrifty takes top spot in inaugural Nexus supplier awards

Thrifty Car & Van Rental scooped two awards at the ceremony, being named Best Overall Supplier as well as winning the award for Best Contribution to a Partnering Relationship.

Also honoured in the awards was Northgate Van Hire – which won the Best Cross Functional Teamwork award, Europcar – which received the Most Improved Operation award and NL Commercials – which was recognised as Best New Supplier. Car or Van Specialist Vehicle Hire won the award for Best Local Supplier.

Launched this year, the awards recognise rental suppliers that have consistently delivered high service levels as measured through the Nexus supplier management module, which proactively tracks supplier performance and enables customer issues to be resolved.

Data for each award category has been collated across 145,000 bookings between October 2013 and September 2014, with suppliers scored on three main categories; contract compliance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Each category is then broken down into a range of performance criteria including customer service, operational processes, environmental contribution, CSR efforts and financial stability.

Yvonne Findlay, head of supply chain at Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “The IRIS system gives us a wealth of important supplier and client information and by tapping into this we have created a process that enables us to work with suppliers proactively to monitor trends and resolve issues on a customer’s behalf.

“Communication and collaboration within the supply chain is key and the IRIS system allows real time interaction with suppliers, providing them with complete visibility on how they can deliver a quality service to the end user every time.

“The supplier awards are designed to encourage suppliers to continue to align with Nexus’ high performance standards and always strive to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.”
