TMC adds EV charge point locator to Mileage Track app

New functionality that enables users to easily locate electric vehicle charge points has been added to TMC’s Mileage Track mobile app.

TMC’s Mileage Track mobile app uses the device’s location to highlight nearby charging stations on an easy-to-view map

Developed to help drivers make the switch to electric vehicles, the mobile app uses the device’s location to highlight nearby charging stations on an easy-to-view map.

Users can then click on an individual charge point to view costs as well as the number of chargers at the location, operator name and connection types.

Paul Hollick, TMC managing director, said: “This new addition to our app is all part of our plan to help fleets transition to electric vehicles with confidence. Although most charging is currently carried out at drivers’ homes, as EV adoption becomes more widespread, public charging will become more of a necessity because a home charging unit isn’t an option for many. The new functionality in the app gives drivers confidence in using the public network as they can find their nearest charging station at all times.”

It’s the latest EV-focused development from the mileage capture, audit and fuel management, which last year launched its comprehensive TMC-e service to help businesses electrify their fleets.

The data-led service analyses vehicles’ journeys to identify where EVs would work well, and TMC also provides a full consultancy service to help fleets transition to electric.

And once fleets have deployed EVs, TMC can provide ongoing analysis and make the complex task of reimbursing drivers for electricity used for business mileage fair and accurate based on actual cost.
