Spanish government launches €72m EV incentive programme

A subsidy of up to 25% of the purchase price (with a maximum of €6,000) will be given for purchases of electric cars with lithium ion batteries between now and 30 November 2011.

25% incentives will also be available for commercial electric vehicles such as buses and vans up to a limit of €15,000-€30,000 depending on the type and size of vehicle. 

The incentive forms part of the government's 2010-2012 Action Plan of the Comprehensive Plan to Promote Electric Vehicles in Spain 2010-2014.
