Škoda’s blue-light fleet sales rocket 75%

Škoda is seeing fast-growing interest from the emergency services, with sales to the sector up 75% in 2019 and further growth predicted for 2020.

The Škoda Scala police car is now available

The brand supplied nearly 800 support vehicles to blue-light fleets last year, led by the Octavia Estate, which sold 339 units in 2019; up 208% on the 110 sold in 2018. The Kodiaq and Superb Estate also registered increases of 116% and 54%, respectively.

For 2020, these are being joined by two new additions to the Škoda blue-light line-up: the Scala police car and the Kodiaq police dog vehicle, both specially converted to meet bespoke policing needs. The new Octavia, which launches in the UK in May, will also join the blue-light fleet range while the brand will also be introducing plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and electric vehicle (BEV) models, including the Superb iV PHEV.

Bespoke conversions for emergency service fleets can be provided through Škoda’s ‘one-stop’ shop package, which takes care of conversion, breakdown recovery, service, maintenance and repair requirements, with finance solutions available.

All vehicles are backed by the brand’s 110 years’ experience of providing support vehicles to blue-light fleets.

Henry Williams, head of fleet, Škoda UK, said: “Škoda’s emergency services vehicles are a long-standing industry favourite, offering some of the latest blue-light technology with exceptional versatility and capability.”
