Škoda Kodiaq to keep Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service on the move

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service is taking delivery of a fleet of Škoda Kodiaq SUVs for its on-call fire officers.

12 Kodiaqs have been delivered to date with a further five on order

Selected for its 4×4 capabilities as well as ample load space, the Kodiaq will be used by the flexi duty officers in challenging situations including call-outs to fires, floods, road traffic collisions and animal rescues.

A total of 12 Kodiaqs have been delivered to date with a further five on order, all specially modified to suit the Fire and Rescue Service’s needs, including covert blue lights, blue light brake enhancements and a fixed load guard in the boot to prevent the shifting of equipment.

Andrew Welton, fleet manager at Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service covers a largely rural area and our Flexi Duty Officers need more flexibility with an off-road fleet that is practical for both people and equipment. The Kodiaq’s performance, combined with Škoda’s ability to provide cars fully converted, met all of our criteria.”
