Škoda equips Karoq for off-road roles
Škoda is to launch a new version of the Karoq with all-wheel drive and off-road styling as standard.
The latest addition to the Scout family alongside the Octavia and Karoq models, the Karoq model has been toughened up for off-road use and will be the only variant of the compact SUV available exclusively with all-wheel drive.
The new model – which gets its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show 2018 in October – will also be offered with three engines, comprising a 148bhp 1.5 TSI petrol engine as well as 148bhp and 187bhp 2.0-litre diesels. The lower-powered diesel gets a manual six-speed gearbox as standard and an optional seven-speed DSG while the other two units both come with the DSG as standard.
Off-road styling includes chrome and silver-coloured bodywork, wheel arch linings and 19-inch alloy wheels, along with tinted windows and Scout logos on the front mudguards.
The interior brings newly designed seat covers with black-brown contrasting seams and also offers multifunction leather steering wheel, pedals with stainless steel elements and an LED package that includes ambient lighting.
