Silverstone Fleet Show will offer something for everyone

By / 11 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

On the driving side, some 21 vehicle manufacturers from Alfa Romeo to Volvo have booked to attend the day-long event on Wednesday 24 April, at the world-famous racing circuit.

Fleet decision-makers will be able to test drive cars on public roads in the immediate area and on both the Grand Prix and Stowe racing circuits, along with “hot laps” in the company of qualified racing drivers.

However, the Fleet World Fleet Show is not just about driving and there are many other features for fleet decision-makers to justify taking a day out of the office.

These include a full programme of fleet seminars, sponsored by ARI Fleet UK, looking at some of the propulsion methods of the future. Leading fleet industry speakers will address key fleet issues, including electric vehicles and fuel cell technology.

There will also be a “Question Time” style panel discussion, sponsored by Venson Automotive Solutions, and an interactive fleet and mobility workshop sponsored by Alphabet.

At the same time, the final of the Fleet Driver of the Year competition, organised by ALD Automotive in conjunction with Peak Performance and Toyota & Lexus Fleet Services, will be held live at the Show.

The finalists will attempt a series of driving challenges, while the lucky winner will be crowned at the event and receive two VIP tickets to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The extensive Silverstone Wing indoor exhibition area will again play host to a number of leading fleet service suppliers and providers. But such has been the interest in this year’s Show that the available area is now double the size of the 2012 event.

Leading contract hire and leasing specialists including Lex Autolease, ALD Automotive, Alphabet, Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions, Leasedrive and Venson will be on hand to discuss the latest funding and finance issues with fleet executives, along with suppliers from various different sectors of the fleet industry.

Show organiser and managing editor of Fleet World, Ross Durkin, said: ‘This year’s Fleet World Fleet Show builds on the success of the 2012 event and offers something for everyone, including a seminar programme, test driving on the Grand Prix and Stowe circuits, plus a huge indoor exhibition area.

‘Our aim is to provide visitors with a number of very good reasons for taking a day out of their busy schedules to visit the show. Last year the seminar programme and the debating session that followed were very well attended – testament that fleet decision-makers will take time out if the quality of the presentations is high enough.

‘This year the track driving sessions will allow visitors to experience what is available on the market today, while the seminar programme will give them an idea of what they might be driving tomorrow.

‘Interest so far from the fleet community has been huge and we have already received more than 450 registrations for the event. So don’t delay – register your interest in attending this year’s event as soon as possible,’ he said.
