Silverstone Fleet Show 2014: Selsia to provide first-hand guidance on cutting repair costs

By / 10 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

National managed bodyshop network Selsia is one of a number of leading fleet suppliers exhibiting in the state-of-the-art Silverstone wing at the Fleet World Fleet Show.

At the show, Selsia will be demonstrating to car, LCV and commercial vehicle fleets the benefits of dealing directly with a managed bodyshop network like its own, rather than using traditional management companies where, the company says, repair costs can be significantly over-inflated.

In fact, the firm’s data shows that around 42% of the cost of an accident repair is taken up by overheads, administration, time, progress chasing repairs, vehicle loss of use, multiple invoicing points, sourcing and approving repairers. As a central point of contact service, Selsia provides all of this without charge on behalf of its fleet clients as part of the service. The firm says that it can typically save at least half of this cost for its clients.

Selsia can even save fleets money on the 58% of the accident costs that is accounted for by the actual vehicle repair. These savings come from standardising labour rates across the UK as well as initiatives like central parts and graphics procurement.

As well as yielding significant cost savings, partnering with Selsia means that fleets no longer have to increase the repair supply chain by appointing management companies with high referral fees which can inflate repair costs. Also, the accident repair process can be standardised across the UK, eliminating fluctuating rates and standards which can occur from local depots having to make their own repair arrangements.

Other benefits include: Better fleet budgetary control for your business, reduced vehicle off-road times, vehicles being sent to the repair network as soon as possible, repairs allocated to the most suitable repairers for the type of vehicle, temporary repairs to keep fleets moving, estimate and SLA verification per case prior to submission and a central point of contact along with central, consolidated invoicing.
