Shell brings new fuel management solution to marketplace

By / 14 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The new product, which automatically links customers’ Shell fuel cards with technology installed in the vehicle and a central database, can help customers save up to 10% on fuel, according to Shell, and can also help firms better manage their fuel-related CO2 emissions.

Known as Shell FuelSave Partner, the product is being branded by Shell as one of the most comprehensive fuel management systems on the market. As well as having been developed to help customers save fuel by highlighting opportunities to improve vehicle performance and driver behaviour, the new solution is said to be one of the only fuel management systems that can automatically calculate fuel-related CO2 emissions on a per tonne/km basis.

Shell also says its FuelSave Partner is unique as it automatically links Shell fuel card transactions with vehicle and driver data to help fleet operators manage fuel consumption more efficiently. The system generates easy-to-use reports with practical guidance for commercial transport operators on how to reduce fuel consumption and fuel-related CO2 emissions.

Peter Adams from Shell Global Solutions said: 'Our technology team has worked with partners IBM, Airbiquity and Continental Automotive to develop and test the telematics technology which underpins Shell FuelSave Partner. It’s been tested with existing customers and refined to make sure it will help deliver real benefits to our customers. For instance, as well as helping reduce fuel costs and fuel-related CO2 emissions, Shell FuelSave Partner can also provide accurate data that helps prevent fraud.'

Shell FuelSave Partner is available on a subscription basis, with no up-front investment required. It can be quickly installed, arming fleet managers with the insights and advice to help them reduce fuel costs and fuel-related CO2 emissions almost immediately.
