SEAT Leon gets new petrol and diesel engines

SEAT has expanded its Leon hatch and estate ranges with a new 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel unit respectively.

Prices for the Leon Hatch 2.0 TSI start at £28,810, while the Leon Estate 2.0 TDI starts from £24,515

The 190hp 2.0 TSI petrol for the hatch comes with a DSG automatic gearbox and achieves up to 42.2mpg with CO2 emissions of 151g/km. It offers a 0-62mph time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 144mph. It’s priced from £28,810 and available in FR, FR Sport, Xcellence and Xcellence Lux trims.

Equipment on the FR trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension, ambient lighting, SEAT drive profile selection, rain-sensing wipers, Full Link smartphone integration and dark tinted rear windows as standard. The FR Sport trim adds 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and microsuede upholstery.

Xcellence trim includes electric folding door mirrors, keyless entry, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and 17-inch alloy wheels. Xcellence Lux adds leather upholstery, dynamic road sign display, High Beam Assist and predictive and Adaptive Cruise Control.

The 115hp 2.0 TDI diesel for the Leon estate offers up to 65.7mpg and CO2 emissions from 114g/km, and is capable of a 0-62mph time of 10.5 seconds and a top speed of 124mph. The Leon estate 2.0 TDI 115PS is available in SE and SE Dynamic trims, priced from £24,515 and £25,615 respectively.
