RingGo helps local authorities provide free parking to NHS workers and volunteers

Cashless parking solutions provider RingGo is offering two solutions to assist councils with free NHS worker parking.

RingGo is helping local authorities fulfil the Government’s mandate to provide free parking to NHS workers and volunteers

The new solutions are being offered to all 140 local authorities that work with RingGo, helping them to fulfil the Government’s mandate to provide free parking to NHS, health and social care workers, as well as NHS volunteers.

The first offering provides a message within the RingGo app at each location included, stating: “This location is currently free for NHS, care and volunteer workers due to Coronavirus.” Those who are eligible should display evidence on their windscreen and will not be expected to pay for parking. Additional guidance on eligibility can be found here.

The second brings a solution to the Government’s alternative proposal, which says local authorities should develop a database of vehicle registrations. Operators using RingGo’s Corporate Journal Entry solution can use this as a solution, sending a list of vehicle registrations to their RingGo account manager who will set up the details on their behalf.

RingGo is waiving all charges for both set-up and management of this process during the outbreak.

Peter O’Driscoll, managing director of RingGo, said: “These are incredibly difficult times for NHS workers, individuals and local authorities, all of whom are responding to ever-changing challenges and demanding requirements. As RingGo has existing solutions in place that can be adapted to help meet these challenges, we are ready to help in any way that we can.”
