Revised Vauxhall Grandland: Pricing and specs revealed

Vauxhall’s updated Grandland SUV is now on sale, bringing new technologies, lower pricing and a range of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The Grandland is available to order now from £25,500, with first deliveries due in the autumn

Priced from £25,500 – and from £34,365 for the PHEV variants – the Grandland loses the ‘x’ suffix on its name and gains latest brand styling cues seen on the Mokka, such as the ‘Vizor’ front-end, and the latest Vauxhall logo.

The Grandland also gets new Adaptive IntelliLux LED Pixel headlights. Already seen on the Insignia, these use 168 LED elements – 84 per headlamp – to bring intelligent adaptation of the light beam according to the driving conditions and surroundings, without dazzling oncoming traffic.

The Grandland also marks the debut of Vauxhall’s Night Vision tech system, which can detect pedestrians and animals in darkness at a distance of up to 100m and alerts the driver.

It’s also available with Highway Integration Assist semi-automotive driving tech, which keeps the Grandland in the middle of its lane and maintains the distance to the vehicle in front, also allowing for ‘stop & go’ progress in traffic.

The interior gains Vauxhall’s new Pure Panel cockpit. Already seen in Mokka and also making its way to the new Astra, this merges two wide screens into a single unit – bringing a touchscreen of up to 12 inches facing the driver and with essential driving info, plus a 10-inch central infotainment screen that’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-compatible and provides a range of services through VauxhallConnect. Wireless phone charging is also provided.

Trim levels span SE, SRi, Elite and Ultimate. Standard specification includes DAB, Bluetooth, cruise control, electric parking brake, electric folding mirrors, front and rear parking sensors and automatic lighting and wipers.

Engine line-up details have now been revealed. At the top of the line-up is the 1.6-litre turbo PHEV which has been reduced by over £6,000 compared with the outgoing PHEV model.

Available in sporty SRi or Elite trims, it delivers a combined 225hp and has emissions of 31g/km and up to 192mpg fuel consumption. Along with its electric driving range of up to 34 miles (WLTP), this gives it a Benefit-in-Kind rating of 11%.

The Grandland is also available with a 130hp 1.2-litre turbo petrol, with either six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, and a 130hp 1.5-litre turbo D diesel with eight-speed automatic transmission solely.

First deliveries of the new Grandland are due in the autumn.
