Renault confirms pricing and specs for Trafic Passenger

Renault’s Trafic Passenger minibus is now on sale, priced from £28,750 (excl. VAT) and featuring latest connectivity and driver assistance features.

The Trafic Passenger is based on the forthcoming Trafic van and is available in short or long wheelbase models with up to nine seats

The carmaker’s main multi-passenger vehicle, after the Scenic and Grand Scenic were axed last year, the Trafic Passenger is based on the forthcoming Trafic van and is available in short or long wheelbase models with up to nine seats via three rows, 1,136mm of cargo length and a maximum loading width of 1,662mm. It also has a maximum payload of up to 1,007kg.

Available in Business and Sport specifications, it features a completely revised front-end using a new bonnet and vertical grille design, with sleeker bumpers and new LED lighting, tying it in with Renault’s latest car design cues.

Onboard storage rises to 84 litres throughout the cabin – while the boot offers up to 1,800 litres of luggage volume.

The interior also brings new design elements, such as a revised instrument panel with a 3.5-inch black and white display on Business models and a 4.2-inch TFT colour display on Sport versions, along with a new 8.0-inch Easy Link display located on the dashboard for Sport models. This offers the brand’s latest infotainment and connectivity features, including connected navigation services for three years and with Google search.

The new touchscreen system enables full smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and also features satellite navigation as standard, plus a full selection of DAB, Bluetooth and USB connectivity options on both Business and Sport models.

The latest generation of driver aids and safety systems are also included, including adaptive cruise control and an Active Emergency Braking System (AEBS) that warns of potential collisions and takes action to brake the vehicle if needed.

Further safety features include Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and automatic high and low beam for the LED headlights. There’s also a new passenger airbag optimised to protect two passengers occupying the two front passenger seats alongside the driver and a parking assist system with reversing camera.

Engine line-up includes three versions of Renault’s 2.0-litre Blue dCi diesel, covering dCi 110, dCi 150 and dCi 170 forms. All are front-wheel drive and come with Stop & Start functionality.

The dCi 110 features a six-speed manual transmission and produces 110hp and 320Nm of torque, returning up to 39.8mpg combined and emitting from 186g/km of CO2. It’s available across both Business and Sport specifications.

Also available across both trim levels, the dCi 150 variant is priced from £30,240 (excl. VAT) and is married up to the six-speed manual or six-speed EDC dual-clutch automatic transmissions. The manual variant returns up to 39.2mpg and from 185g/km of CO2 emissions, while the EDC dual-clutch automatic returns 38.2mpg and 194g/km of CO2.

The most powerful dCi 170 engine is available exclusively in Trafic Passenger Sport models, in both SWB and LWB body lengths, and comes solely with the EDC automatic gearbox, producing 170hp and 380Nm of torque, while returning up to 37.7mpg combined and CO2 emissions from 196g/km. Top speed is 115mph top speed and it accelerates from zero to 62mph in 10.6 seconds. Prices for the dCi 170 models start from £35,690 (excl. VAT).

First deliveries start June 2021.
