Remarketing sector discusses showrooms reopening in new VRA guide

The impact of the reopening of dealer showrooms in April has come under focus in the first of a new series of commentary documents from the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA).

The new document delivers commentary on the reopening of showrooms for those working within the sector

The new ‘Five Minute Briefings’ asks experts from the industry body’s board to summarise in 100 words about the significant of a future event within their specialist area of remarketing.

The first looks at how the reopening of retail showrooms will affect the current situation. It features Jonathan Butler, partner and head of automotive at Geldard’s, along with remarketing consultant Cliff Deller, AutoTrader digital marketing director Duncan Josey, Rupert Pontin, director of insight at Cazana, Sam Watkins, commercial director, Manheim Vehicle Services, Jayson Whittington, chief editor, Glass’s and Gary Xuereb, commercial director, DMN Logistics.

Philip Nothard, chair at the VRA, whose views are also included in the document, said: “The ‘Five Minute Briefing’ allows us to draw on the expertise within the organisation to provide a short but highly informative overview.

“The prospect of showrooms reopening is potentially one of the most important developments of the year for the used vehicle world and the new document delivers essential commentary for those working within the sector.

“In the future, we plan to apply the same format to a range of other subjects facing the remarketing industry as they arise. It’s very much a question of ‘watch this space.’”
