Pricing revealed for Škoda Octavia plug-in hybrid
Škoda’s first-ever Octavia plug-in hybrid is to open for orders next week, priced from £30,795 OTR and available in hatch and estate forms.
Bringing a BiK rate of 6% and a 43-mile electric range to tempt company car drivers, the new Octavia iV uses the same petrol/electric drivetrain technology seen in the Superb iV and the Octavia vRS iV.
This teams up a four-cylinder 1.4 TSI petrol engine with a 116hp electric motor, giving a total 204hp of power and 350Nm of torque. WLTP fuel consumption is rated from 188.3-282.5mpg while CO2 is 22-33g/km on the combined cycle.
The motor is powered by a 13kWh battery back located in the floor just ahead of the rear axle and giving an all-electric WLTP driving range of up to 43 miles. Drivers can also choose from a number of driving modes, such as E-mode, which keeps the Octavia in electric drive only and is aimed at urban areas or short commutes. Selectable modes also include hybrid, where the driver can choose from the option of charging the battery via recuperation or the engine while the car is moving, and a completely autonomous Hybrid Auto mode.
The Octavia iV on-board charger is rated at 3.6kW, enabling a full charge on a standard domestic or workplace 16A supply in 3.5 hours from empty to full.
In addition to being supplied with a 16A AC charge cable for wallbox/chargepoints, the Octavia iV also comes with a 10A mains UK three-pin charge cable as standard.
Both hatch and estate body styles are offered in two of the standard Octavia trims: SE Technology and SE L. These come with a host of extra equipment over their petrol or diesel-powered siblings, including bespoke 18-inch alloy wheels, decorative door sills and a storage compartment in the boot for the supplied charging cables. Prices rise to £33,605 for the Octavia iV estate SE L.
