Pricing and specs revealed for Lexus UX compact crossover
The new Lexus UX compact crossover will be priced from £29,900 when it launches in the UK next March, bringing a rival to models such as the E-Pace.
Revealed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the UX expands the brand’s SUV line-up as its first compact crossover and is expected to replace the CT hatchback at some point. It’s the first model to be built on the Lexus Global Architecture – C platform and is claimed to deliver strong dynamic performance with a low centre of gravity and highly rigid body.
The three-grade line-up will cover UX, F Sport and Takumi models. Standard kit includes the second-generation Lexus Safety System+, a new Lexus Navigation system, dual-zone air conditioning and 17-inch alloys. A range of option packs will also be on offer.
Just one engine will be offered in the UK; a petrol/electric hybrid UX 250h that features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and marks the fourth generation of Lexus’s hybrid technology. This will be offered in front-wheel drive as well as with ‘E-Four’ all-wheel drive, which uses an electric motor on the rear axle to automatically provide extra grip in slippery conditions.
All-wheel drive will be an option on the Takumi and is available on UX and F Sport models in combination with the Premium Plus or Takumi Pack.
On-the-road prices will start at £29,900 for the UX, with the F Sport at £33,900 and the top-of-the-range Takumi at £39,100.
