Pricing and spec finalised for new Audi A4
The new A4 Saloon and Avant models will priced from £25,900 OTR and bring an all-new platform as well a significantly overhauled engine line-up with emissions dipping below 100g/km and new technologies.
In total seven engines – three TFSI and four TDI – will be offered, with fuel economy improved by up to 21%. The efficiency champion is the 2.0 TDI ultra with a 99g/km output in SE and Sport models. The new range also brings redeveloped six-speed manual, seven-speed S tronic and eight-speed tiptronic transmissions.
The latest A4 also debuts a new Sport option that will sit between the entry SE and top S line trims. Standard equipment on the SE trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels, Xenon headlights with LED DRLs, Audi smartphone interface, Audi drive select, three-zone climate control and 7-inch colour MMI monitor.
Sport models bring bespoke 5-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, MMI Navigation, Sports seats, a sports steering wheel and the 180-watt Audi sound system plus an automatic three-month subscription to Audi connect.
The top S line specification includes an upgrade to a larger 18-inch S line alloy wheel and bespoke S line exterior styling. It also adds LED headlights incorporating LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights with dynamic rear indicators. Also included are part-leather sports seats and S line sports suspension – which can be replaced at no cost by the standard suspension.
Technology options include the Audi virtual cockpit, Matrix LED headlights and numerous new driver assistance systems.
Other highlights include increased boot space, which brings 505 litres – said to be class leading – for the Avant rising to 1,510 litres with the rear seats folded down and loaded to the roof.
The A4 also brings redeveloped five-link axles and electromechanical power steering as well as optional dynamic steering with two settings: sports or comfort. Both of the suspension settings are included in the Audi drive select driving-dynamics system, which is standard equipment in the UK.
Prices start at £25,900 for the A4 1.4 TFSI and rise to £32,080 for the A4 Avant 2.0 TDI ultra.
