Prices and specs revealed for Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace
Volkswagen’s new Tiguan Allspace seven-seat SUV is now available to order, bringing increased space and practicality compared to the standard version.
Rivalling models such as the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Skoda Kodiaq, the Allspace is 215mm longer than the Tiguan and has a luggage capacity of 230 litres in seven-seat mode or 700 with five people onboard – an increase of 85 litres over the regular Tiguan’s 615 litres.
Prices start from £29,370 – compared to £23,250 for the standard model – with the trim line-up pared down to three models: SE Navigation, SEL and the sporty R-Line. R-Line models open for order towards the end of Q1 2018.
All trims come with seven seats as standard as well as 18-inch alloys, parking sensors and 3Zone climate control, Volkswagen’s Discover Navigation infotainment system with an 8.0-inch colour touchscreen, sat nav and Bluetooth.
Engine line-up in the UK covers a 148bhp 1.4-litre TSI petrol plus a 177bhp 2.0-litre unit, along with 148hp, 187bhp and 237hp 2.0-litre TDI diesels. All TDI engines are equipped with an SCR catalytic converter and a 12-litre AdBlue tank. The 147bhp diesel has the choice of front-wheel drive or 4MOTION all-wheel drive and six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG gearboxes. Both the higher-powered diesels come with DSG and 4MOTION as standard.
CO₂ measurements range from 131g/km for the lower-powered with a manual gearbox and front-wheel drive to 175g/km for the 2.0-litre 177bhp TSI engine with 4MOTION all-wheel drive.
