A key change is the introduction of a new trim structure for both models with three main trims – Active, Allure and GT – each of which are now interweaved with a new intermediate level called a ‘Premium’.

Onboard equipment available includes Peugeot’s latest package of digital i-Cockpit technology, comprising a 12.3-inch digital head-up instrument panel, a compact steering wheel for improved driving dynamics and a 10-inch capacitive colour touchscreen – the latter featuring toggle switches to access main control functions.

New safety tech on both models includes Night Vision technology, which enables drivers to view pedestrians and animals on the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel up to 200m beyond the scope of the headlights, plus lane positioning assist and latest-generation automatic emergency braking. Models with the eight-speed auto also offer adaptive cruise control with stop and go.

From Active Premium level up, all new 3008 and 5008 models come standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Screen. There are also two new USB sockets installed for rear passengers to use.

Engine line-ups carry over petrol and diesel models and, in the case of the 3008, its two plug-in hybrids. These include the Hybrid4 300 e-EAT8 with a 200hp PureTech petrol engine and two electric motors, giving  a combined power output of 300hp, emissions of 29g/km CO2 and up to 36 miles of zero-emissions range. It’s the only 3008 model available with 4WD.

The 3008 Hybrid 225 e-EAT8 features a 180hp PureTech petrol unit combined with a single 110hp electric motor for a combined 225hp power output, providing 30g/km of CO2 and a zero-emission range of 34 miles.

Petrol and diesel 3008 and 5008 models now come fitted with a drive mode selector, giving access to Normal, Sport and Eco modes. 3008 PHEV models offer Electric (the default mode on start-up), Hybrid and Sport modes plus 4WD for the Hybrid4 300.

Both models also get upgraded exterior designs, largely focused on the front-end and bringing a new frameless grille, including bespoke versions for top-level GT and GT Premium models, and redesigned headlights with range-wide LED technology and a new ‘Fog Mode’. It also gains gloss black side scoops and a painted treadplate, along with upgraded tail-lights. And a new ‘Black Pack’ is available on the top-spec models.

The updated 3008 and 5008 will arrive in showrooms in coming months.
