The Passat SE Business gains the most enhancements, including new LED headlights as standard, which replace the previous halogen units and also become standard on the GT and Alltrack models. The SE Business now also benefits from heated front seats as standard – along with R-Line and Alltrack models – plus 3Zone climate control and colour multi-function display. All models now come with Volkswagen’s App-Connect system as standard.

The changes mean the Passat SE Business gains £1,955 worth of extra equipment in comparison to the previous model, but sees a price increase of £550 equating to a customer saving of £1,405.

Other changes see the Passat R-Line now featuring Premium LED headlights, which include dynamic curve lighting that swivel the lights following the steering wheel angle.

Meanwhile the 2018 Golf now gains the 128bhp BlueMotion version of the new 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine for the Golf GT hatch and Golf Estate GT – the unit is already available in SE and SE Navigation models on both the Golf hatch and the Golf Estate and offered 147bhp guise on the Golf GT and R-Line hatch models, and Golf Estate GT.

Finally, Volkswagen has also introduced a petrol engine to the latest Golf Alltrack for the first time. Previously available with a choice of 2.0-litre diesels with 147bhp or 181bhp, the model now features the option of a 177bhp 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine.
