Available in Saloon or SW body styles, the 508 is said to have excellent aerodynamic qualities and a luxuriously appointed cabin.

Under the bonnet, engine output will range from 112 to 204bhp and will offer a range of fuel-efficient technologies, including the new e-HDi system which will enable this imposing car to achieve CO2 emissions from 109g/km. Peugeot also says that a version featuring its HYbrid4 technology will be available in due course and will emit CO2 emissions from 99g/km while also delivering 200bhp and four-wheel drive.

The 3008 – the first car in the Peugeot range to benefit from the HYbrid4 system – will also be on display at the Paris Motor Show. The world's first production diesel hybrid vehicle, the 3008 HYbrid4 combines a 2.0-litre 163bhp HDi FAP diesel engine driving the front wheels with a 37bhp electric motor driving the rear wheels. Drivers can select from a number of different driving modes: zero emissions all-electric; diesel engine and 4-wheel drive 200 bhp in combined operation, Sport and Auto.

The 3008 HYbrid4 will be available in the UK in the autumn of 2011.

Also on the Peugeot stand will the iOn electric car and its electric urban concept, the BB1.
