Oxfordshire partners with Waze to provide real-time congestion data
Drivers in Oxfordshire will be able to access real-time traffic information through the Waze sat nav app under a new partnership.
Following in the footsteps of TfL, Oxfordshire County council has become the second UK Connected Citizens Partner (CCP) with Waze. CCP provides a free two-way data exchange for municipalities, enabling the council to benefit from real-time driver insights to improve congestion and make better-informed planning decisions while offering drivers the latest traffic information.
Finlay Clark, UK head of Waze, said: “This a genuine partnership where everyone benefits; whether it’s the council analysing our traffic jam data to determine city planning, or using Waze to inform local drivers of critical information about major construction projects or road closures which might impact local driving, the end goal is to reduce congestion in the area.”
