Order books open for Toyota RAV4 Plug-in
Toyota’s RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is now available to order, joining the standard petrol-electric hybrid as the brand’s new flagship model.
Starting deliveries in April, Toyota’s first-ever plug-in hybrid version of the RAV4 features a more powerful electric motor and a larger battery to provide increased power and enhanced economy, along with AWD-i intelligent all-wheel drive as standard.
The result is 302hp of power along with economy figures said to outperform all segment rivals. Official WLTP combined cycle figures are 22g/km CO2 and 282.4mpg and it has an official 46-mile all-electric range, giving a Benefit-in-Kind rating from 6%.
While EV running is its default mode, drivers can select from four different drive modes to suit the journey or personal preference, including an Auto EV/HV mode which automatically switches the vehicle to hybrid vehicle operation when extra drive power is needed, bringing the 2.5-litre hybrid engine into play, then returning to EV operation when conditions allow.
It’s available in two trims: the £47,395 Dynamic and the £50,895 Dynamic Premium. Both are differentiated visually from the RAV Hybrid, including on the grille and with bespoke 19-inch five-double-spoke alloy wheels.
Features on the Dynamic version include dual-zone air conditioning with remote operation, nine-inch multimedia touchscreen, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power tailgate, wireless phone charger, heated front and outer rear seats and Toyota Safety Sense active safety and driver assistance systems.
The Dynamic Premium grade adds black leather seat upholstery, head-up display, opening Skyview panoramic roof, front seats with power adjustment and ventilation and a nine-speaker JBL premium sound system.
