Online bidding exceeds £220 million for Lexus approved pre-owned cars

Powered by Manheim Retail Services, the UK’s leading automotive digital specialists, vehicle Negotiate allows customers looking for their next Lexus to submit prices they are willing to pay for vehicles of interest, sending them straight to the owning Lexus Centre. Following a fully supported email process, Lexus Centres then contact customers to advise if their bid has been successful on their chosen vehicle.

Since launching just over four years ago, the original functionality has continued to evolve and its popularity has consistently grown, becoming a fundamental tool for generating and increasing sales leads and empowering customers to submit bids online.

Toyota has also implemented the functionality on its recently refreshed Approved Used vehicle locator, following the success with Lexus, with significant results achieved in the first month as electronic leads into the Toyota network doubled.  

Iain McCall, Remarketing Services Group manager for Toyota and Lexus Fleet Services, said: 'Having advanced tools such as Negotiate increases the prospect of customers finding and buying their next Approved Used Toyota. Following the success of Lexus it made sense for us to adopt the Negotiate functionality in supporting our network and customers.'

Following the continued success of Negotiate, the next phase will embrace e-commerce, allowing successful bidders to reserve their vehicles online with a deposit.  Seamlessly linking with the current Negotiate bid process, Lexus Online Reserve will utilise PayPal as a trusted payment provider. The customer can then (if required) arrange a viewing of the car to proceed with the purchase and subsequent collection or delivery of their next Lexus Approved Pre-Owned car.
