A £297,000 investment now sees the 1-acre site with 333 sq/m of workshop space ideally equipped to service the needs of the growing fleet size in the large conurbation, and now caters for walk in rentals and private hire.

The new site boasts a dedicated reception area for rental and workshop customers, two plasma TVs with information points; one of which will display a live workshop planner so customers can track the maintenance progress of their vehicles; a refreshment and working area for customers, a new open plan back office to improve operational performance and communication between departments, a five bay mechanical workshop with an additional valeting bay, and a brand new brake tester.

The new state-of-the-art brake tester is a scientific way of testing brake efficiencies and is in line with MOT standards. New diagnostic equipment, self-fit tyre facilities and full vehicle valeting facilities are also on site.

David Howarth, Northgate Vehicle Hire’s Regional manager, commented: 'The consolidation of the sites in and around Grantham to launch one super site will provide our customers with everything under one roof. The site was picked due to its accessibility and the facilities we could incorporate to cater for our growing fleet and the increasing demands of our customers.

'All of our staff are undergoing a training programme, which was piloted in Glasgow, to ensure that not only our facilities, but our service levels, are exceptional', he added.

The launch comes as part of Northgate’s £1.5m investment in infrastructure, which saw the Glasgow site unveil a £300,000 re-development in August; the Glasgow depot is being used as the blueprint for all sites.
