The mobility company celebrated its one millionth booking in 2012, 13 years after launch, and the two millionth booking comes less than six years later.

Proving further evidence of its rapid growth, in the last 18 months Nexus has won more than 200 customers, including a contract said to represent the largest fleet market deal for a major delivery company. Nexus, which has a supply chain of 550,000 vehicles across 2,000 locations, also experienced its record rental day in June of this year with 11,500 vehicles out on rent on a single day, a 62% increase on the 7,100 reported at the same time in 2017.

The two millionth booking was with Acorn Stairlifts, the global stairlift company. Jolene Shaw, fleet administrator at Acorn Stairlifts, requested a VW Golf and was presented with a celebratory bottle of champagne to mark the occasion.

David Brennan, CEO at Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “It’s always nice to surpass the targets you set as a business but we never could have anticipated reaching our milestone two millionth booking in the amount of time we have.

“Consumption habits are changing and we are seeing more and more customers seeking flexible vehicle solutions such as rental to supplement their mobility mix. By continuing to invest in our technology to meet customer demand, we are confident we can further accelerate our booking and customer numbers.”

The milestone booking comes three months after Phoenix Equity Partners acquired a majority stake in Nexus from Bowmark Capital, with Brennan having said at the time that the investment “sets us up for our next exciting chapter of growth as the UK’s leading tech-driven mobility provider”.
