Nexus appoints former IBM executive as chairman

Waldron brings 30 years of global technology experience, spanning start-ups, venture capital, private equity and public companies. He oversaw the acquisition of Maersk Data Group, which formed the basis for a new IBM global transportation business, and where, as executive chairman, he was responsible for 30 companies and 3,500 employees across 12 countries.

Waldron has also held non-executive positions with a number of companies including cloud-based service providers Node4 and APSU, advanced process modelling company PSE, Financial Services information provider Kneip and social media aggregator Amondo.

Nexus’ CEO David Brennan said: “I am delighted to welcome Bernie to the board and I know that his broad skills and impressive track record in supporting and growing global, technology-focused businesses will be a real asset to Nexus as we move to the next phase of our growth.”

Julian Masters, partner of private equity investment firm Bowmark Capital, which acquired a majority shareholding in Nexus in December 2015, added: “This appointment is a clear signal that Nexus is aiming to continue the innovation that has underpinned its current market-leading position to drive future growth. We are sure Bernie’s expertise will prove to be invaluable to the business.”
