Nexus & BVRLA to work on driving down rental fraud

The ‘RISC ‘ system is available to all BVRLA members is designed to make businesses less susceptible to vehicle theft and fraud. It also helps protect businesses against identity theft, customer fraud, negligent damage to rental vehicles and those with poor payment records

The system forms a central, data-protected hub of information containing 12,000 cases on active individuals or companies where problematic issues have arisen during the rental period. Any undue behaviour is logged on the system, and can then be viewed by rental companies as a risk check to determine future rental to individuals or companies.

Nexus has been appointed to re-build the system and will provide users with a new interface including a modern look and feel, easier access to data and improved site security.

David Brennan, CEO of Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by the BVRLA. To work with one of the fleet sector’s leading trade bodies is testament to our technological capability and the project is a fantastic opportunity to enhance a critical commercial tool for BVRLA members.”

Gerry Keaney, chief executive of the BVRLA, said: “RISC is one of the key benefits we offer to our rental members so finding the right technology provider to partner with on this project was vital. Nexus impressed us with its knowledge of the rental sector and the efficiency and sophistication of its technology systems.”
