New solution enables fleets to integrate business applications with TomTom technology

By / 10 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The new tool is initially being launched as the TomTom Bridge device, which goes on sale in Q2 2014 and has a rugged, industrial design, 7-inch screen, unique interface and Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The device comes with lifetime TomTom Maps and TomTom Traffic and also includes features such as Near-Field Communication, camera, WiFi and a 3G modem.

This will be joined later in the summer by a version for fleets, dubbed PRO 872, that also integrates TomTom’s own WEBFLEET fleet management platform and again enables software firms and inhouse technical teams to add their own applications in for any fleet purpose, such as daily checks.

‘TomTom Bridge opens up a world of possibilities to every business that runs a fleet of vehicles,’ said Corinne Vigreux, managing director at TomTom.

‘We have designed TomTom Bridge to be an easy and flexible way for businesses to develop applications that seamlessly connect to TomTom technology. TomTom Bridge offers a new way for any type of business on the move to harness the power of our technology to work more efficiently, saving time and money.’

Giles Margerison, sales director of TomTom Business Solutions, added: 'It’s rugged, reliable and robust with integrated navigation and an open platform – it’s a game changer, there’s nothing else out there like it.’
