New Skoda Octavia Scout to cost from £25,315

By / 10 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

First added to the Octavia line-up in 2007, the Scout accounted for almost 8% of all Octavia estates delivered between 2007 and the end of 2013.

The second-generation model, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, again adds to the standard Octavia estate with rugged styling plus plastic cladding and an extra 33mm of clearance to give off-road appeal, helped by 4×4 technology based on a fifth-generation Haldex-5 clutch transmission. Skoda also says the traction has increased by 25% to up to two tonnes while start-up performance and climbing power has significantly improved.

Despite increases in its size, the new Octavia is 20% cleaner and more fuel-efficient. The engine line-up comprises the 148bhp 2.0 TDI with a six-speed manual gearbox and a 181bhp 2.0 TDI featuring a six-speed DSG as standard. The former returns 55.4mpg on the combined cycle and has CO2 emissions of 129g/km, while the range-topping model returns 55.4mpg and has CO2 emissions of 134g/km.

Equipment includes 17-inch alloys plus up to nine airbags and Crew Protection Assistant and Driver fatigue sensor. Options include the Intelligent Light Assistant and Park Assist. The Scout can also be supplied with a new rear-view parking camera.
